This was painted in part as a very belated Christmas gift for my good friend ~wist-aria as well as a practice piece for another detailed painting soon to come.

Image Descript:
Getting back into details like this has felt awesome. I'm very happy with the way this turned out, even if there are a few composition errors I'm still really pleased. Introducing Hanuke (dark centaur) & Kalan (buck skin).

I hadn't planned on naming these two at the start but as the pencil sketch progressed they began revealing more of their story to me.

Centaur Descript:
Hanuke is a Friesian inspired centaur, large and in charge, powerful and swift. He proudly wears the markings of his clan, specifically designed to his cleric/warrior status.
Kalan is a buck skin mustang inspired centaur and a good friend of Hanuke. Coming from a different tribe, he is smaller, quicker but not without heart. He specializes in sword melee combat.

With that out of the way these two friends are enjoying a favorite past time. Racing! lol

Centaurs are awesome, and friesians are GORGEOUS horses. @_@ That aside, this image is absolutely fantastic! I LOOOOOOVE the background and how beautifully detailed it is. And I also love the poses you chose for you two centaur buddies. c: They look like they're having a great time racing.

Nice! I like that you picked a Friesian for Hanuke. You don't hear people using that breed for a centaur, yet they have a nice build for a heavy horse. I think you did a great job on them both :)
